The easy answer is that you will find Physician Assistants in nearly all fields of medicine. As previously mentioned, PAs are generalists. That makes them a perfect fit for general medicine such as family practice; however, it also makes them a perfect complement to specialty fields of medicine. In other words, when you see a PA in cardiology the cardiologist will focus on your heart problem while the PA will be looking at it in the context of other complications such as diabetes. Thus general medicine combines with specialty medicine to give you better results.
